Snow snow and more snow

Stuck inside since Thursday and the weather man says any snow we have at the moment will be with us till the middle of next week !!!!!!!!!! O how I wish I had better balance, the first view is out of my bedroom window the snowplough has worked hard to keep this road open. number 2 is my 9 foot high shrub with a 14 inch snow hat DH had to knock the snow off as it had startrd to fall over with the weight. Never mind I have been crafting and once the glue dries I will blog the Christmas and challenge cards I have done today. I hope that everyone who still has to get to work/school stays safe and those who are now housebound remember crafting is fun too

Winter card

Karen's MSE challenge card was a sketch which makes life so much easier so Thanks Flourgirl

The image is Sugar Nellie and I embossed it with holographic powder and just added a touch of shadow with promarkers, mounted on nestie cut card. I used the same die in silver mirri card and turned it slightly so it just shows. The snowflakes are cut with a Marianne creatable die

and the "snowdrift" is the waste edge from a border die.

Nestie storage

What do you think?
I have been trying to work out the best way to have my cutting dies to hand and safe ( having had to hunt through the bin to find a scalloped circle still attached to the paper.. yuch)
I went to hobbycraft and the magnetic sheeting was £23 a roll !!!! so I bought some magnetic foam sheets @49p each and stuck them to an old memo board with pinflair glue and I am really pleased with the outcome. OH is going to fix it properly above my cuttlebug shelf. Now I need to get another board 'cos this one is full and I think I need another few dies

Thanks for looking

girly bling

After the last two weeks crafting again is so theraputic , as a " I want to make you feel better and show you I love you" my lovely hubby paid for the full set of Simply Sassy stamps I had on order and they are such lovely stamps I just had to smile. I have used Hippy Chick on this card which is destined for CT 1972 as the Oct card swap theme "Girly" I think she definately fulfills that brief. Gemma on MSE set the challenge " bling" for this fortnight and as I have had limited time I hope that the gems in the flowers and hippy chick's hair will work for that too ( please Gemma xxxx)

Autumn Card

This card was made using Tiets Sketch challenge 45 for the Sugar Bowl with the additional theme Autumn.

All the papers are from my stash box, the edges punched with M S punch and a nestie for the sentiment and the image shape. The image is from Sugar Nellie's Autumn plate and I have used promarkers to colour, and "Thats all I have to say about that" as Forrest Gump would say.

Sugar bowl challenge

The challenge in the Sugar bowl is a sketch with optional extra Buttons

I love this image which is part of a set called Autumn I used promarkers to colour and my nesties to mount the image. The "tree branches" are cut with my new shapeabilities "Doodle parts" from spellbinders (do they have to keep bringing out gorgeous new dies)

The leaf brads have been in my stash for years as I could never work out what to do with them but I think they work here. Ribbons and buttons are also from my stash.

Zentangle

OK own up how many of us have been "artists" for years without knowing it, after watching Barbara Gray (Clarity Stamps) on C&C on Sunday I now know that what I have passed many quiet moments doing is "Zentangle" an art form not a doodle! Thus armed with the confidence that its "alright" I decided to use one as a card topper. What do you think?
I know that I find it very theraputic and can loose myself quite easily into the little marks.
Try "google" if you want to see some stunning examples.
I used my bug and nesties to cut out the shapes, and the charm came as a pressie in a swap the rest is all "out of my head" :)

Bevs Bag Prize

Oh myOh my just look what I got, lots and lots of lovely ribbons.
When I was drawn out of the " Bingo Bag of chance" by the Marvelous Mollie from the Ribbon Emporium aka Crafty Ribbons I knew I would be getting a bag of ribbons but my goodness when you open the bag and see the shimmering colours, the glints of glitter ,and the sheen of silkiness it is mouthwatering. The ribbons are all a yard( oops probably a metre) long and there are 17 of them!!!!!!! some of them I have ideas for already, and I have had them for 30 mins, others will probably never be used they will join some Anna Griffin papers in my SPECIAL box which get taken out, stroked and put safely away again ( remember golum and "my precious" ) One day I may "love" someone enough to use them, but not yet, not yet.
Thank you to Crafty Ribbons for a beautiful prize and if you have not yet tried the site do ,cos they have lots of freebies and last but not least absolutely fabulous ribbons
Thanks for visiting, your comments are valued

Black and White

Mse challenge this fortnight is Black and White I have cheated everso slightly by using eggshell
as my skin colour and since (I hope) greys are a shade of black this should be ok, Fifi let me know if I am disquallified. It is so absolutely beautiful today that I took my camera outside to snap the card. What a difference sunlight makes, the card flowers look so crisp and the white zings.

Red and Green

Artydoll over on MSE set this fortnights challenge " Red and Green" and boy did I struggle, I just could not work with the colours at all and had almost decided not to enter and then Dragonllew posted a query about snowflake dies............ I reached for my die case, knocked over my folder box and hey presto as they say. Papermania embossing folder Christmas tree on red cordination card sanded back. Matt onto green card, Mount onto lovely Daisy and Dandelion paper and dress with tartan ribbon and the Marrianne Creatable Snowflake dies I reached for in the first place. Now why did it take me almost the whole fortnight to get it done :)

that bear stamp again

This stamp keeps finding its way to the craft desk and sending "use me" vibes so here it is again this time in blue. The new Marianne flower dies are sending the same vibes, I have been experimenting and tried a scrap of vellum and am delighted with the results, what do you think?

in love with flowers!!

I think I am in love... nah but I do love the purchase I made of these lovely dies from MariianneCrafti

they are a bit of a faff to remove from the dies once cut but thanks to a tip from Rusty(MSE) I left a thin paper in the die and then used the paper I wanted over the top and it does make it easier and the finished flowers are so beautiful it makes it worth it. The swirly bit is so useful too and just adds that something to the card.

The first card I made using them is the last one for my Cancer Research challenge box which was well recieved yesterday at the shop.

and being just a wee bit grey ( hence the grey papers and bits) still do the holdy hands and lovvy looks bits ( and we love them for it).

I used sketch 33

I found that once I re discovered this Clarity stamp I just had to use it again she really is an elegant lady, this time I used shades of browns and gold in the backing paper to colour my flowers with promarkers and the twiddly bits behind them are my new nestie swirls. I borrowed the nestie "ribbon labels" dies from a friend and guess what is now on my shopping list

This is the easle card I have made for my Sister-in law for her birthday, she is in her seventies but loves to dress up for special days and this Clarity stamp is so elegant it made me think of her.
The image is coloured with promarkers, nestie mounted then layered onto card which I have "quilted" on my Hougie board, i used pearl gems at the intersections. I added a matching border
strip with a promarker coloured ribbon and a lovely Joanna Sheene tassle and mounted the whole thing on some holographic card just for a bit of Bling
