WOYWW 184

2 pics today one  of the "Look at me I am so tidy " desk one and of the messy desk

the messy desk shows my last (hopefully) Christmas cards all done and dusted.  How are your festive makes doing? all ready for the post or in a panic?.The tidy area is where I  use my die cutter  and if you can see the magnetic board on the wall you may notice that there are still a lot of dies waiting to be refiled in their cases, so maybe not so tidy :)
Off to see Julias desk and hope to get round to all your  desks too

WOYWW 181

Well it does help to have friends, especially if they are addicted to things like this.   I have mentioned the die addicted friend before but this time its a tale of two addicts,  I have a slight (!!!) problem with pens of the colouring type and had built up a few(!) doubles, my friend managed to double up on this lovely die set so we swapped.  Result -- two very happy crafters

Right off to see if the other crafters in wowww world are just as happy   Join in here at Julia's

WOYWW

Its Wednesday again!!! where did that week go? On my desk today you can see the halloween swaps I am working on, pumpkins bats and spiders!!!!!!!!.
Behind ( and further photo ) is my latest storage solution  ( I will get this craft room tidy- honest) This is an idea from Eunice on the joanna sheen forum so thanks Eunice .   Its an old cd rack with cd boxes in every other slot and the pens sit on the boxes It will take the whole of the current colour set minus the greys, I did not think it was worth getting a bigger stand.  I sliced up an old colour chart and stuck onto the edge of the cd cases then  coloured 8mm sticky labels with the correct colour and stuck on the flat end of each promarker.  Its so much neater and I can see the colour I want at a glance
Thanks for visiting, please leave me a message so I know I am not talking to myself ( mind you I often do talk to myself)
Well now I will wander off to check out the rest of the WOYWW starting with

These lovely cards are the only papercrafting I have done this week and were done at a class at Papercrafts Boutique here in Elgin  thanks to the ever efficient Kate the class was very enjoyable and I am quite proud of the results.
The pink things trying to walk into the picture are these
My late mum in law tried without much luck many years ago to teach me to knit on 4 pins  but as I have decided its not too late to learn new things and having been introduced by a forum friend to the joys of Ravelry I picked up her old pins and look what I made!! I turned the heels without too much trouble and shaped the toes ok ish but oh my the joys of kitchener stitch!!!! it took me 4 goes to get the first one right and then I still needed two attempts before the second toe end was neat.    I hope you are looking down and smiling Mil
Right whats on your workdesk today?
I am going over    Julia      blog to have a wee nosey around all the really interesting work spaces.
Thanks for visiting and please leave me a message, that way I know you have been :)

WOYWW

Well not a lot this morning, can you see the towel spread on the windowsill. after the storm force wind and horizontal rain on this side of the house yesterday the seal on the window started to leak and as my desk is right under the window a very quick desk tidy was essential. Thankfully I did not have much paper on my desk so lost very little of value and no projects suffered.   Just to show something look what my very clever hubby came up with, remember the distress inks handles and stand and the ribbon bow maker stabliser?   This time he was watching Barbara Gray using her riser to help with inking large stamps and using film and fibre , "that look useful" he says and a couple of days later this arrived in the attic.   The handle on the BG stamp fits over the edge of the riser and keeps it stable for inking and will keep it safe whilst ironing fantasy film over the stamp.    I do have a clever hubby xxx thanks my dear

Thanks for looking, please leave me a comment an let me know you have visited and do go over to o see some really interesting work areas at

Sugar Bowl 91

I have been playing today with an old favourite "spread your wings" she is so sweet, she is coloured with promarkers.   I have followed the sketch Fiona laid down for this challenge and added some lacy bits, the flowers I made from some metal buttons with lace gathered to make a frilly flower.   All the papers I found neglected in my box so not sure which pad they came from.

sun at last!

Well it was so warm and sunny this morning I decided to wash Monty's bed and bedding, I propped his cushion against the back door whilst I loaded the washing machine with his duvets ( yes he has two one for his bed and one for the sitting room) and he decided  to sun bathe !!!!!  its such a dogs life.

Once that was done I headed up to the craft room and Oh Dear look how I left it yesterday. I decided to photograph it just to remind me to tidy up after a craft session. I chickened out of a close up shot of the desk! and as I have craft group tonight I am going to have to tidy as half the tools I want to take are buried somewhere in that mess.  Right stop talking and get on with it.

Thanks for visiting, leave me a comment please then I will know you have been around

Am I Back?

Well after having problems with my computer (hopefully solved) and then getting locked out of my own blog(yes I know I should have been more careful) I think I am back and running.   Just going to add an image to see if I have that right

Yes I am back :)  the card is one I made from a Clarity stamp set Poppies which is a tall stamp and another one that fits beside it to form this lovely drift   I used promarkers to colour and another clarity sentiment card in the sky (its supposed to look like sky writing) the photo is a bit  "off" as per my usual attempt grr.
I have been promising myself a class in digital photography but at the moment they are only running them is the next town and its a bit difficult to get there.   Next session hopefully.
Right lets see if this will work.........

Whats on my work desk Wednesday

This is my first entry for woyww so I do hope I have done it correctly
The items sliding in from the right hand side are my pushed back pile of "I will try that again" which is in need of attention. On the left is a pile of new nesties, not I must add mine own but a crafty friend with a nestie fetish has left some with me whilst she is on holiday.   She is such a good friend that some have not even been used yet.  I am going to have such fun.
The card I am trying to make at the moment is a triple easel made with Spellbinders Fleur di Lis squares from an instruction sheet by Creative Expression here Thanks Suzanne :)  I am not the best at construction type things so I am trying very hard to build up my skills in that area and since I am about to become a football widow for the duration of the Euro football competition it will be a good time to practice
Right I am off to see if I can post this in the correct way here and visit some of the desks I have been drooling over but never posted on 'cos I am so new at this sort of thing it takes me a while to join in

And they said it would not last

This week end we will be here

Because on 21st of April 1962 we did this

How wrong they were.

A small family wedding (37 people)my sister and my best friend Margaret were my bridesmaids, hubbys brother was the best man and yes looking at the pic you can see 3 pairs of bare legs the best man wore a kilt :)

Mum made and iced the cake and my aunts and Mums friend made the wedding breakfast.   Smoked Salmon pate, Ham and Chicken Salad and Sherry Trifle.

Honeymoon was 1 night in a very posh hotel in Inverness ( a wedding gift from hubbys Aunt who was the managers secretary) and  the best man picked us up the next morning and we had a few days in his spare room as he lived by the sea.

Now 50 years, 3 sons, 6 grand children later I think we may say "It lasted"

clarity yellow challenge

The march Clarity Charity Challenge was to use only the colour Yellow with white, not my most favourite colour but since it was a challenge I set too and this is one of the three I made.
I decided that gold was yellow so I paper pieced the stunning Barbara Gray stamp " Velvet" I think her name is, (I bought her at the SECC a couple of years ago) in a dull metalic card and a toning paper from the papermania collection and added a border of the wrought iron circle last months stamp.

Hope you like it and thanks for visiting

My lovely great niece Bethany is sweet 16 today, this is her card and behind the tag is her cheque so I know one or the other will make her happy!!!

The card is based on a card  I made at a class last year run by Erica Gunter a Personal Impression demonstrator  who holds classes at Papercrafts Boutique here in Elgin.  The stamps are PI and the card is Coredination with some bits from my stash.

Paddingtons MSE Challenge "use old stuff"

The current MSE challenge is to use something you just "had" to have at the time but have never used.   This impulse buy has been giving me a guilt trip for at least 2 years I loved it in the shop and bought the whole set including buttons bows and ribbon but once I got it home it seemed soooo yellow and I put it in a drawer.

I have teamed the papers with some co ordination  papers and the image is this months brand new just to die for "Clarity Design Club" stamp Lily of the Valley which arrived by post at 9.30 and had ink on it by 11.
