more craft for life cards

I went to a demo on Saturday at Papercrafts here in Elgin, and was just stunned by the new Spellbinders Shapeabilities dies so I jumped straight in. These are the Parisians Motifs and Accents plus Fancy Tags 2 and 3

(ok so I spent a wee bit) the card is the Colorbox Pearlescent "Nocturne" If Erika Gunter see( blog Snappycrafts) finds her way on here I hope she thinks I did her proud with this selection which are all based on the cards she did for us.

These 2 are made with Tim Holtz embossing folders on clarity silk card which I have brayered over with big and juicy ink pad

2 backing papers 4 cards, the cowgirl and the star girl are both sugar nellies and that stunning castle is the new Barbara Gray stamp and I tried the reflection technique from her dvd

These 3 pics are cards I made up from bits and pieces I had in my stash box

CT's MSE challenge ... sketch

I made this card for the current MSE cardmaking thread challenge set by CT

I enjoyed following her sketch and hope you enjoyed looking at my efforts :) if you did leave me a comment and if you didnt please tell me where I went wrong :) :)

All the card came from stash, and I used a spellbinder embossing plate to raise a texture on the card the beautiful ribbon is part of the friday freebie that I won from Craftyribbons.

crafting a la barbara gray ( I wish) MSE Easter card entry

Anyone who has seen Barbara Gray and her brayer must have the " I need to try that" feeling so after watching her at the SECC and spending a little (!!!) to get started, I had a go.

The top pictures is using her fiddle stamp and big and juicy ink pads, I used a resist versamark pad to randomly stamp fiddles on the card blank then brayer'ed like crazy with B&J on the background. I also used the fiddle to build a pattern on the focal panel, the sentiment reads " the older the fiddle the sweeter the tune" just right for one of my young brothers

The second pic I got really adventurous and stamped the lady then cut out a mask of her, did the resist again and brayer'ed then removed the mask and coloured her with PMs

Number 3 I tried her "tear a piece of copy paper to make hill ranges" trick and masked a sun circle on the top corner. The burnt yellow/brown colours made me think of desert country so I have turned it into an Easter card. The city scape is another of Barbara's "tricks".

I know I have a long way to go but I am so enjoying playing with something new.
