Clarity challenge "Winter"

This months Clarity Challenge is "Winter", now I am not a big fan of  icy paths, snow and winter weather in general. I have over the years had 3 falls resulting in broken  bones ( right arm twice and left leg) so had to really think to get inspiration for this challenge, "what do I love about winter" well curling up in front of a roaring fire is one thing.
I have been experimenting with my gelli plate and different inks and masks the piece above uses

  • Theuver card
  • System 3 acrylic paints metallic red and green
  • Clarity stencils dotty wave and ocean swirl
  • Distress inks Peacock and Festive Berry
  • Clarity letterbox kit alphabet
  • Card and paper from stash

I really like the way the metallic inks have added shimmer to piece ( and yes the metallic inks did wash off the stencils and gelli plate just as easily as normal acrylic paint Phew!)
I used green and the dotty stencil first then the rich red and ocean swirl for the second application.   After pulling off the prints I went over with the distress ink which added depth to the bits of white card still showing
I cut the print into three and mounted them on black card and mounted the whole thing onto a card blank covered in deep red paper I stamped the words onto card and inked them with distress inks.
I hope you can see the colours and shapes of a lovely warm fire in my project.

Clarity Challenge "Vintage"

Last gasp annie again!!!!! I have been thinking about this challenge all month and could not work out what I wanted to do.   I have been playing with my gelli plate and masks and was quite pleased with this one a buff titanium wavy dots overlaid with a pale blue leafy bough.  I added a cream spellbinder border around my card and topped it with the beautiful  "velvet" lady coloured with promarkers mounted on the same cream card and finished it with a cream lace flower with a button.
Its now 5 30 the challenge ends at 8pm  so I had better move it

here is the Clarity challenge

Thanks for looking, leave me a message if you have time.

woyww 206

Look at the mess, I covered some of it with the reason for the chaos,  One of my forum buddys volunteers at a wild life rescue and each year they have a fund raising and awareness open day, she runs the craft stall and has asked for donations of  "animal themed" cards.
I have used some stunning Jayne Netley Mayhew drawings from a Joanna Sheen cd and also some of her stamps. When it comes to wildlife drawing I think she is wonderful.

I am up to 20 cards now and another 20 bookmarks then I have the inserts to do so that will keep me going for another week.   I just hope they sell on the day.

I have been MIA for the last few weeks as I have been busy every Wednesday and I don't like to post if I cant visit other peoples blogs but things are back to normal now

Right off to link this to Julia get my number and start checking desks
 Happy WOYWW

Clarity April Challenge

This months Clarity Challenge is " In the garden"

Well I can only wish with this one, maybe I have delusional  tendencies but one day maybe!!
In my dream garden I am sitting on a terrace on a warm summers day looking over my Lupins and round my stunning statue out over my estate to the stand of trees lining my drive. Well a girl can dream can't she

WOYWW 196

Well how did the box turn out? I think I am fairly happy,  have a look and tell me.

its Wednesday and today on my desk is the very first page in my very first journal and yes it did look sooo white and yes it was intimidating
so I just smeared it over with some TH distress inks, sprayed with water and now I am  wondering just what to do next.  I am in awe of all the pages I have seen on here and on the various web sites I have visited, there does not seem to be a right or wrong way so I am just going to get out the stamps and see what happens.   Maybe by the next time I post I will have something a bit more interesting  Wish me luck :)

Right while this dries a bit( and 'cos I am still a bit scared) I am going over to Julia's to see what she and all you other woyww's are up to today

WOYWW 195

Now how did it get to be Wednesday again so quickly!

So on my desk today is something that I did not make  but am trying to make a box for.

My Hubby loves to work with wood and as our nephew is about to take the plunge  he has made the lovely  double Celtic love spoon as a gift.     Its shape is started  on the frett saw then  finished by hand, made of cedar wood and so smells beautiful.    I love it, I hope the happy couple will too.
Now popping over to Julia's to have a look at all the inspiration on your desks.

Thanks for looking and do please leave me a comment

WOYWW 194

Purely playtime today as I was given a "Clarity" Humming Bird Stamp and a set of masks for them  by my lovely Hubby and needed a play. The masks are  perfect matches to the stamp so make such a difference to the old cut out with scissors.    I even managed to get a reverse image by stamping onto my splodge mat then placing the card face down onto it.    So just for fun this wee atc size card was coloured with promarkers and today I am a happy crafter.

Now I am off to Julia's to see what's on everyone else desk

the cat and the new bed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Once there was a cat  and he loved his bed , he had used it very well for many  years and it had survived many washes but still retained all the comforts he required until..... one wash too many and it fell to pieces.
A new bed was bought the removable cushion from the old bed inserted into the new bed and that's it ...or not as the case may be

I could try it out for you if you like
no thanks I want to make Mum sorry for washing my old bed

still sulking

getting closer

closer still

ok just for you I will try it
nope just not up to my standard

This has taken 5 days and I think  Dandy is just being too picky now and thinks he deserves two beds, he now alternates between the two.   Next step is to remove the old cushion  By the way that is a toy catnip mouse on the floor not the real thing :):)

Thanks you looking and all advise welcome
