WOYWW 251

its WOYWW again see Julia's here

OK so today my desk  looks like I achieved something.... err no.  I was working on a stunning tutorial by Barbara Gray see here.  I did not have the colours she used but made do with what I had. Versamark feather stamped randomly, check,
brayer over with distress ink ,check,
 feathers look white check,
distress ink darker colour stamp over, check,
gently edge piece with darker ink, check,
add parchment panel and add feather ,check.
Put to one side to dry and work on base card, check.
Looking good, base card lightly stamped and accented, feeling great.  Place topper gently onto base card to check,  wow I think I have a good piece, pat me on the back and polish my halo.
Mount artwork by adding 3d foam tape on the back............ this requires me to place artwork  face down on a clean piece of paper to my right............ no no no ... I placed it face down onto my messy craft mat to the left , added the tape and pressed firmly down.......AAARRRGGGG  if you look you can see black ink smudges and a wee bit of gold leaf and a wee dog hair ....... and if you had a camera view of me  it would have been x rated
So Thank you for visiting and if I made you smile in sympathy, or fellow feeling leave me a message
I am #57

woyww 247

Its Wednesday and I hope you have joined me from the WOYWW site here

On my desk today the fruits of a wonderful weekend retreat with Clarity  I attended the Clarity Stamp retreat in Perth run by the inspirational Pauline Steven (Clarity's  North Tutor)  What an exiting and worthwhile two days 10 till 4 each day with a lunch break (on the run because no one really wanted to stop for more time than it took to swallow a wee bit the lovely buffet lunch). So a full 12 hours crafting learning such techniques as Jacobs Coat, Bouncing Brayer, Reflective stamping, Masking to stamp, Stamping and fabric painting on a cotton bag and how to make and decorate a gift bag from a plain envelope. Since the retreat included dinner and  overnight accommodation the craft chatter went on into the evening.   If you pop back over the next few days I hope to show more pictures and share more of the weekend with you. My head is still buzzing with ideas

Thanks for popping over to my desk today, please leave a message

Clarity inspired

After reading Barbara Grays blog yesterday see here I just could not wait to try the double stencil
technique but as I did not have those stencils (ordering them asap) I made do with what I had.
I used the bubbles and spray stencils with shabby shutters, squeezed lemon and mustard seed
distress inks and an ivory promarker to outline the spray.

I love the soft diffused look it has created and cannot wait to try with other stencils when they arrive.

Thanks for looking

back in the attic

what a horrid day, wind lashing rain and soooo cold so up to the attic, on with the daylight bulb, fan heater, and radio. I need cards for 3 birthdays next month and here's what the mojo supplied
Using Marriane flower dies with spellbinders swirls

The lovely humming bird stamp from barbara gray

and Marrianne dies again for the bird and birdcage.
and while I have been up here the wind has died down, the rain has stopped and the sun has come out.  Off to take advantage of the lull with a quick dog walk.

Thanks for looking and please leave a message

Mmmmm how did this happen?

How time flies from this in 1974

                                                                        TO

This last Sunday
The first time in 10 years I have been able to get  all my 3 sons in the same place at the same time
Number 3 lives 2 hours away, number 2 lives 800 miles away, and number 1 in NZ.We all got together when number 1 came over  with his family and a wonderful time was had.  I am still smiling and have some very happy memories to look back on
This is us as a family group 3 sons 3 daughters in law and 3 out of 6 grand children, unfortunately we were minus 3 of our adult grand children who had work commitments .    Can you see how close I am to the young man in his daddies arms, it was the first time I had met my youngest grandson (2) and he was christened that day in the same church his Mum and big sister had been. We had a buffet lunch in the local hall thanks to my daughter in laws caring family
Lovely lovely day, I do so wish  the star trek transporter was a reality and we could be together more often but I am grateful  that I have a happy healthy family even if they are so wide spread
