This months Clarity Challenge is "Winter", now I am not a big fan of icy paths, snow and winter weather in general. I have over the years had 3 falls resulting in broken bones ( right arm twice and left leg) so had to really think to get inspiration for this challenge, "what do I love about winter" well curling up in front of a roaring fire is one thing.
I have been experimenting with my gelli plate and different inks and masks the piece above uses
- Theuver card
- System 3 acrylic paints metallic red and green
- Clarity stencils dotty wave and ocean swirl
- Distress inks Peacock and Festive Berry
- Clarity letterbox kit alphabet
- Card and paper from stash
I really like the way the metallic inks have added shimmer to piece ( and yes the metallic inks did wash off the stencils and gelli plate just as easily as normal acrylic paint Phew!)
I used green and the dotty stencil first then the rich red and ocean swirl for the second application. After pulling off the prints I went over with the distress ink which added depth to the bits of white card still showing
I cut the print into three and mounted them on black card and mounted the whole thing onto a card blank covered in deep red paper I stamped the words onto card and inked them with distress inks.
I hope you can see the colours and shapes of a lovely warm fire in my project.
I should like to enter the Clarity Challenge here
